The number of sessions needed to gather information and negotiate an agreement will vary from couple to couple. Therefore, the total cost of the mediation will also vary. Mediation, however, is much less costly than adversarial litigation.
At Core Mediation, we never ask for a retainer. The hourly rate for mediation sessions is $160 per hour, payable at the end of each session, which typically lasts two hours. We bill to the quarter-hour, so if a session lasts only one hour and twenty minutes, the total cost of the session would be $240 (1.5 hours @ $160 per hour).
Once mediation is concluded, if you choose to have Core Mediation Services prepare your paperwork, we charge a flat fee of $2,500 which includes the following:
The paperwork fee of $2,500 is not collected until all parties agree on all issues. This fee is non-refundable.
All paperwork is sent to both parties for their review and approval prior to filing.
Payments may be made by MasterCard or Visa.
Mediation can take place wherever you live, but paperwork can only be filed if you live in San Luis Obispo county.
